Run
I’m so excited to share this video with you! A few months ago while working at REI, I was scanning the web looking for inspiration. I stumbled upon Patagonia’s video page and really loved what I saw. This video really made me want to go for a run. It was super “northwest” (shot in the HOH) and I absolutely loved it. So, I decided I needed to make a running video as well. I hit up a friend on facebook and he referred me to Bryan Estes. I sent Bryan the Patagonia video and asked if he’d be interested in making something similar. He was super on board and strangely enough, he knew the runner in the video! I was stoked.
I knew I was gonna need some help capturing sound and lugging stuff around so I hit up my buddy Chris Wojcik and he was on board. It’s so nice to work with other people. Another set of eyes goes a long way. It was super helpful to have Chris at the shoot.
We shot this video in two short two hour evenings at Discovery Park. We we’re racing against the sun and it was going quick! Bryan was super rad to work with and needed no direction. This was super helpful because Chris and I could focus on good shots and sound and not worry about Bryan’s posture and what not. Being that he’s an actual athlete saved us a lot of time.
I also owe a huge thanks to Bill Wolford at VividSound. Bill hooked up the music for this and mixed all the sound for me. When you get so many sound elements, it takes a truly talented ear to make it all play together nicely. Thanks Bill!
Here it is! If you enjoy, please share with the webz. Feedback is always appreciated as plays a major roll in my improvement.
